TSAMS Update 10/6/2021

PennDOT's Traffic Signal Asset Management System (TSAMS) has been updated on October 6, 2021 with the following features:

  • A new module was added to the home screen for Transformational Technology, including Connected Vehicle and Smart City components. These components can be located independently of other TSAMS devices (signals, non-signals, and ITS devices), and they can be linked to one or more other TSAMS devices where applicable.
  • ITS devices and Transformational Technology devices can now be linked to Projects.
  • IP capability now support IPv4 and IPv6 formats. Indicating a device has IP address capability no longer requires the IP address to be entered if it has not been assigned or is unknown.
  • Backhaul communications has been added to signal devices, including cellular, fiber, MPLS, Microwave, POTS (dial-up), T-1, Wireless, and Unknown. When the backhaul communication is located at a particular signal device, the backhaul communication type should be entered for that signal device.
  • The manufacture date has been removed from all components in TSAMS since it is not normally known or provided when equipment ships. The installation date is more relevant and should be entered as new components are installed.
  • Fixed a bug that duplicated authorizations for ITS downtime entries when the downtime was saved.
  • Fixed a bug that prevented the correct manufacturers from appearing when adding a new component.
As always, we appreciate your feedback on these changes and any other features of TSAMS. Contact us at signals@pa.gov
