TSAMS Update 3-21-23

PennDOT's Traffic Signal Asset Management System (TSAMS) has been updated on March 21, 2023 with the following features:

  • Search improvements:
    • Search by PennDOT ownership for signals and non-signals, and for maintenance records at PennDOT-owned signals
    • Status searches now allow date ranges longer than 1 year.
  • Several enhancements were made to the response maintenance records:
    • For PennDOT-owned signals, PennDOT staff associated with a maintenance contract will be notified via e-amil when a maintenance item is completed.
    • Added maintenance status for "Temporary fix" to account for situations where the permanent repair cannot be completed until parts or equipment are obtained.
    • Removed number of crews used and total hours on maintenance screen because this duplicates information already captured for each maintenance activity.
    • Maintenance search results consolidated to be sortable, and columns added.
  • Multiple additional funding sources can now be selected for projects.
  • Bug fixes:
    • Resolved error when users attempt to upload documents right after updating street details.
    • Connections between signals in systems will now save correctly.
    • Signal owner search will now include all municipalities, not only those municipalities which have signals. When changing the number of results displayed, the missing information is now displayed correctly.
The following changes were previously implemented on December 20, 2022:
  • TSAMS website address is updated to www.tsams.penndot.pa.gov to comply with Commonwealth requirements ("pa" added)
  • Project updates:
    • Funding source changes to "Primary Funding Source" and "Additional Funding Source" added
    • Advanced search allows selected projects which are "ROP Listed" either as the current status of a previous status
  • Ability to search by component manufacturer name for signals and non-signals
  • Future dates can be entered for installation date and component status date to allow component records to be created before components are physically installed.
  • Signal owner search results display Traffic Signal Maintenance Agreement number and execution date.
  • Increased character limit for HOP application number
  • Drag and drop document updates for permit documents

As always, please feel free to contact us at signals@pa.gov with feedback on these changes and/or requests for future enhancements.
