Municipal Signal Letter & Maintenance Agreement Update

PennDOT distributed a letter to municipalities owning traffic signals in late March.

We have also developed a new page on the Traffic Signal Portal with more information about Traffic Signal Mainteinance Agreements, including instructions, frequently asked questions (FAQ), a sample resolution, and three versions of the template agreement. The content of all three versions of the template agreement is the same. The appropriate version should be selected based on the PDF viewer and whether digital signatures will be used, as described in the instructions. PennDOT signal staff will ensure the agreement available on the Traffic Signal Portal reflects any changes from the Office of Chief Counsel (OCC). We are aware the OCC SharePoint site referenced in Publication 191 is not accessible to non-PennDOT staff. The links in this post are publicly available with the same information.

We will update the FAQ as we receive additional questions, so please review this as it may answer any questions you have.
